Keep redeemable MileagePlus miles separate from Premier qualification activity. For this build, the official United pages required interactive access and did not expose enough text to verify numerical earning or status rules. We therefore do not publish guessed current thresholds.
How to evaluate a redemption
Use United’s official award search for your itinerary, cabin and total charges. Compare the exact displayed option with cash and read the booking’s change and cancellation conditions.
Write down points, required cash, room or cabin, flexibility and the alternative booking you would really buy. Use one currency for cash inputs and the same number of travelers or nights.
Where useful value may appear
The useful question is whether a bookable itinerary saves money on travel you would actually take. A partner option can deserve comparison, but availability and issuing-program conditions must be confirmed.
Treat this as a search strategy rather than a promised sweet spot. Calculate with available inventory and recheck the price immediately before booking.

A useful custom planner without guessed rules
Open the official Premier qualification page and your own account side by side. Enter the current qualification year, target and progress into the custom planner. For a route with two requirements, choose AND; for two independently sufficient alternatives, choose OR. Any additional mandatory flight condition must still be checked separately.
Save the plan under a name that includes the qualification year and source. When the requirements change, update the targets before interpreting the progress bar. We intentionally leave unverified numerical requirements blank rather than quietly substituting an older year.
Your next decision
Create two comparable scenarios: an acceptable cash booking and a points booking with all required charges. If a transfer is involved, calculate source points and permitted increments first. Keep a cash fallback.
