Search the exact property and room before relying on a points estimate. Check multi-night redemption conditions, cancellation terms and certificate restrictions in the official program terms.
Write down points, required cash, room or cabin, flexibility and the alternative booking you would really buy. Use one currency for cash inputs and the same number of travelers or nights.
Where useful value may appear
Look for a total stay that avoids meaningful cash cost at a location and room type you would choose anyway. A broad portfolio is useful only when the specific property fits your trip.
Treat this as a search strategy rather than a promised sweet spot. Calculate with available inventory and recheck the price immediately before booking.
Status, partners and benefits
Published annual tiers progress through Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium to Ambassador. Ambassador includes an eligible-spend requirement; the planner models that separately from nights.

A full-stay comparison
Illustrative stay: the exact room costs $1,100 in cash or 140,000 points plus $80. Simple value is about 0.73 cents per point. If a nearby hotel you would happily book costs $850, practical value against that alternative is 0.55 cents. Neither result by itself measures the experience or cancellation flexibility.
Enter the total points shown for the complete stay rather than multiplying one night by the number of nights. Review the official terms for any multi-night award feature, certificate limit or eligible-stay condition before counting it.
Your next decision
Create two comparable scenarios: an acceptable cash booking and a points booking with all required charges. If a transfer is involved, calculate source points and permitted increments first. Keep a cash fallback.
